Details: This rare DBD-engined DHC has been in California all its life and in single family ownership since 1964. The acquirer, a young lawyer at the time paid $2,500 for the car and used it as a daily driver. His brother, also a lawyer also owned a rare DB Mk II FHC (notchback) as shown in the photo.
In 1982 the head gasket blew on the MK III and due to the difficulty of sourcing parts and engineering know-how the car stood around in a workshop for over 30 years. Many years later, in 2012 the owner's family decided to fully restore the DHC and by 2014 it was back in the pristine roadworthy condition that is displays today.
It is one of only 14 DHCs to benefit from the rare triple-SU DBD spec engine.

Details: Only 3 previous owners and a total mileage of 96k miles prior to acquisition by the current owner in 2018, from allastonmartin.com at £161,000. The car had been part restored in 2006 and by 2018 was in substantially fine but cosmetically bad condition. A decision was taken to restore chassis, suspension and drive train to show standard, incorporating all possible upgrades, but keeping exterior and interior worn as is. The rebuild process is ongoing in 2020 and the pictures show condition as bought in 2018
